Resources
A resource is what does the work: a machine, a booth, a workshop, an asset, a person. Each task occupies one or more resources for its duration.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Identifier of the resource | Cutting 2 |
| Resource type | The family it belongs to; defines which properties it has | Cutter |
| Plant | Where it is; plants can have levels (plant, line) | Plant A |
| Capacity | How many tasks it can do at once | 1 (a machine), 3 (a workshop with three bays) |
| Properties | Values specific to the resource, according to its type | speed, maximum load, certifications |
Resource types
Section titled “Resource types”A resource type groups equivalent resources and defines their properties. Tasks can ask for “any resource of type X”, “this specific resource” or “any resource that meets a condition” (see alternatives).
Groups and hierarchy
Section titled “Groups and hierarchy”- Groups: named sets of resources, for example “Lathes” or “Morning shift technicians”. A task can ask for a resource from a group.
- Hierarchy: location levels, such as plant → line. Used for rules such as “all phases of an order in the same plant” (same unit constraint).
Availability
Section titled “Availability”Known stoppages (maintenance, public holidays, an already recorded breakdown) are represented as fixed blocks on the resource: they take up its capacity and the rest of the plan is placed around them.
